Team of the Week
Nominations have once again come in from up and down the country as many battled the cold! Thank you once again for all of your fantastic suggestions.

The stories behind those selected this time round include a defencer playing her final game after 20 years of service, a 14-year-old making a big impression and a player flying back from Delhi and playing with no sleep!

Name: Lizzie Arnold
Club: Blockley HC
Nomination: Normally a defender, Lizzie went in goal for first time in two seasons this weekend and not only kept clean sheet but also pulled off some awesome saves and was named Player of the Match.


Name: Isabel Palmer
Club: Clifton Robinsons HC
Nomination: As she has done for more than 20 years, Isabel put in a rock solid defensive performance in her last home game for club before retiring after 400+ games

Name: Sam Hooper
Club: University of Exeter HC
Nomination: Sam was the instrumental in a 4-2 win for his team, scoring twice as well as pulling off a goal-line save in a great defensive performance.

Name: Giselle Ansley
Club: Surbiton HC
Nomination: Just a couple of days after finding out she had been selected for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Giselle celebrated in the best fashion by scoring two goals in her final league game of the season to move Surbiton back to the top of the division.


Name: Phil Boast
Club: Chertsey Thames Valley HC
Nomination: Having flown back from Delhi the night before and not sleeping, Phil sparked a remarkable comeback his team, scoring the first as they overhauled a two goal deficit to draw 2-2 against their top-of-the-table opponents.

Name: Hannah Baker
Club: Long Sutton HC
Nomination: In a team at the bottom of the league playing the side currently second, Hannah showed maturity beyond her age of 13 by scoring the equaliser with final touch of the game after a battling performance.

Name: Jamie Brown
Club: Bacchanalians HC
Nomination: Captain Jamie led his team to victory in Tier 2 champs, scoring the winning stroke and being named Player of the Match

Name: Grace Howe
Club: Harborough HC
Nomination: It was a fantastic weekend for 14-year-old Grace as she made 2s debut and also helped 3s out, being named Player of the Match in both games. Top effort!


Name: Vicky Woolford
Club: Sutton Coldfield HC
Nomination: The blizzard-like conditions that much of the country saw this weekend were no match for Vicky, who scored a hat-trick for the 1s in Investec Women’s Conference North.

Name: Kieren Robson
Club: Liverpool John Moores HC
Nomination: Kieren enjoyed yet another weekend full of goals as he bagged five this weekend, taking his season’s tally to 37 and ensuring his team just need one more point for promotion.

Name: Danielle Gibson
Club: Gloucester City HC
Nomination: Danielle was another who seemed to enjoy the snowy conditions this weekend as she hit a second half hat-trick to help her team beat Team Bath Buccaneers 4-1 in Investec Women’s Conference West.
