Surbiton to host ParaHockey Day at EuroHockey Club Cup tournament

Surbiton Hockey Club have announced they will run a ParaHockey Day on Friday 18 May as part of the Women’s EuroHockey Club Cup they are hosting, in conjuction with Flyerz Week.

The club are inviting Flyerz Hockey – a scheme created to make hockey accessible to everyone – to introduce ParaHockey to their members and fans. Furthermore, Kate and Helen-Richardson Walsh will also be in attendance, as ambassadors of Access Sport and a number of the club’s international players will be involved in the coaching.

Access Sport is a company which believes every young person should be able to access sport and experience the power it can have enhancing their life prospects. You can find more information here.

The day is falling in the middle of the Women’s EuroHockey Club Cup which Surbiton are hosting between 17-20 May, with their women’s 1st XI coming up against teams from the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Ireland and Belarus at Sugden Road.

With a side featuring several Great Britain international superstars, the four-time English national champions Surbiton are hoping a large home crowd will spur them on to their best European performance yet. You can still buy your tickets to the event here.
