How did East Grinstead get to the Finals?
With six victories from their opening seven matches, East Grinstead stormed through qualification to secure a place at this year’s Finals. However a 7-3 loss to Bowdon Hightown in their final game saw them finish below the reigning champions in the Women’s Premier Division but this will only make them more hungry to clinch the title.

Who will they play in the semi-final?
East Grinstead will tackle Slough at 11:45 in what is set to be an intense battle, with the two only separated in the Women’s Premier Division by goal difference having recorded six wins and two losses each.

Qualification goalscorers
Elsie Nix (9), Sophie Bray (8), Zoe Burrell (4), Lucy Holder and Abi Harper (both 2), Pippa Chapman, Amy Thompson, Pip Lock, Laura Unsworth, Ellie Rayer and Chloe Brown (all 1)

Players to watch
A plethora of talent is likely to take to the pitch for East Grinstead, including Great Britain’s Olympic gold medalists Laura Unsworth and Sophie Bray – the latter who proved she is just as lethal indoor as she is outdoor with eight goals in qualification – as well as the hugely exciting Ellie Rayer.

Keep an eye out for Elsie Nix too, whose nine goals made her the third highest goalscorer in qualification.

Did you know?
Five of the East Grinstead team who won the 2016 title also featured in qualification for this year’s event – Unsworth, Becky Waters, Pippa Chapman, Ruth Gordon and current captain Zoe Burrell.

Furthermore the squad that won the title three years ago also included Malou Phenincx, who is now a regular player and World Cup winner for The Netherlands, scoring in the final held at Lee Valley last summer.
