Reading and Wakefield to host 2019 Junior Club Championship Finals

Reading HC 2018 EH Junior Champs U18 winners
England Hockey are delighted to announce that the U16 Club Championships on 6–7 April and the U14 and U18 Club Championships on 11–12 May will be held at Wakefield Hockey Club and Reading Cricket and Hockey Club respectively.

Both venues and clubs have a wealth of experience in hosting hockey events. Wakefield hosted this final previously in 2013, as well as the EH Cup Finals in the same year. The double pitch facility at College Grove, just 10 minutes off the M1, will provide a warm “Wakey Welcome” for the U16 teams and their supporters.

Reading Cricket and Hockey Club have also hosted a number of events at Sonning Lane, the most recent being the League Finals weekend in 2014. The U14s will play a round robin tournament, with the boys on Saturday and girls on Sunday. The U18s matches are Tiers 1–3 finals only, with the U18 Boys' Tier 1 finals closing the proceedings on Saturday evening and the U18 Girls' Tier 1 competition opening Sunday's action.

England Hockey’s Head of Events Sue Catton said: “It's fantastic that we can take these events around the country and showcase what our clubs can do to support the planning and delivery of events.

"We are working very closely with both clubs to ensure that we can give the best possible experience for those involved, many of whom have worked really hard to reach their first National Final.”
