Team of the week - 27th March 2019

Goal keeper
Name: Evie Wood
Club: Teddington Hockey Club
Nomination: Who made some absolutely superb saves against top of the league Surbiton HC Ladies 2s today. Teddington battled it out to win 1-0 but we couldn't have done it without Evie. When Surbiton were about to draw level and score from what looked like an open goal opportunity, she sprung back to make an awesome save. She had the crowd clapping and cheering and the whole team voted her player of the match today! Surbiton players were fast, but Evie's hands were faster! GO EVIE!

Name: Ruth Purdy
Club: Sonning HC
Nomination: Awesome every week this season and totally bossed the game easily wining Player of the Match, helping her team to a 5-0 win, winning the league and securing promotion to South Div 3 and scoring her first ever goal for the club, oh, and her second ever goal. Great season

Name: Jo Saunderson
Club: Cambridge City
Nomination: I moved clubs this year and felt she had made a massive improvement this season when we played each other in this weekends final game of the season. She demonstrated composure and decision making well beyond her years! She was instrumental in her defence line, saving one on the line from a PC - I look forward to seeing her progress!

Name: Helen Thomas
Club: Taw Valley
Nomination: Scored 1 goal today to give Taw a draw and their 1st point of the season.

Name: Freya Cotton
Club: Old Southendian Hockey Club
Nomination: In her first season in adult play she has taken the game in her stride. She has played in every position, gets really stuck in and has become a real star player for the whichever team she plays in. She has been so versatile and has made appearances in the development squad as well as the first team, but has really found her place in her second team as a solid left midfielder, being a force and playing a huge role in guaranteeing the teams promotion. At just 14 she has such a promising future and has regularly picked up player of match from her team mates. (Pictured centre)
