England Hockey is pleased to give notice to all ClubsFirst accredited clubs that they have the opportunity to apply for the CCPR Sports Club of the Year 2010
The CCPR Sports Club of The Year is now in its 17th year, the award ceremony, run in conjunction with the Foundation for Sports and the Arts, seeks to reward those clubs at the heart of their communities which provide opportunities for players and volunteers alike to participate in sporting and recreational pursuits.

Last year’s prizes were awarded at a glittering gala dinner in a top London hotel. In addition to the prize money, the governing body and winning club may benefit from local and national media attention.

Luton Town HC saw great success in 2009 winning 3rd place. The club has an outstanding structure and their engagement with the wider community is extremely strong, detailed and valued in many respects.Offering opportunities for people of all ages and background to get involved with the club, not necessarily in playing or officiating in hockey but in a wider sense of voluntary opportunities, club management and day to day duties the clubs ensures that their is a platform for opportunity and development for everyone.They plan to further expand their schools coaching as well as increasing the number of Asian and black girls involved in hockey in Luton.

EHF Club of the Year

The European Hockey Federation has opened applications for its EuroHockey Club of the Year 2009 awards.
The European Hockey Federation (EHF) recognises the value of its grass-roots, which is Hockey Clubs and with over 3,000 based in 42 European countries, it really is a huge achievement to be named Club of the Year.
The criteria and the application form are available to download below so why not tell the EHF about the work you do with your Junior members, the links you have with your local schools and the sterling efforts of the club members?

Deadline for entries is 7th December 2009 to allow us to process and endorse your form. We will submit all forms to the EHF on the clubs behalf.
