Team of the Week - Round 4

Team of the week 2019/20
This weeks XI features determination, insane saves and some serious skills.

Club: Yeovil & Sherborne HC
Nomination: Becky made some incredible saves this week, including an insane stick save that even shocked the opposition.

Name: Kayleigh Pullen
Club: Plymouth Marjon University HC
Nomination: Kayleigh is Plymouth Marjon University’s strength both on and off the pitch. She has determination, drive and so much love for the sport.

Name: Alex Murphy-Worrall
Club: Formby HC
Nomination: Alex is a solid centre back, despite being just 14-years-old. She is quick, skilful and helps the team in both defence and attack, even at penalty corners! Her pace on the pitch allows her to distribute the ball and stop the opposition breaking into the D.

Club: Formby HC
Nomination: Molly is a confident, strong and calm player. She is fantastic at winning the ball and setting up many attacks forward. Her skills on the pitch help the team week in and out. Her nominator said they would be lost without her.

Club: Gosport HC
Nomination: At just 16, Flora helped her defence keep out several well drilled attack in the circle by showing grit and determination. The score could have been a whole lot different without her.

Club: Marton Furness HC
Nomination: Jack’s team wanted to show their support for a team-mate in need and nominate him for Team of the Week as unfortunately due to injury he won’t get another opportunity this season.

Name: Matthew Hulbert
Club: Old Silhillians HC
Nomination: 13-year-old Matthew broke a mini goal drought in style, notching four strikes for his team. He was beginning to worry that the step up to adult hockey was too much for him, but Saturday’s performance has been exactly what he needed to show that his hard work at training and learning from previous matches has all been worth it.

Club: Chelmsford HC
Nomination: Tom was a true club hero this weekend. Not only did he score five goals, he also stepped up and umpired two games to make sure all the club’s matches went ahead this weekend.

Name: Maddie Lacey
Club: Leighton buzzard HC
Nomination: Maddie has been going from strength to strength since joining the senior teams. She is continuing to build her confidence and skills including scoring her first goal of the season in super style.

Name: Andy Golding
Club: St Albans HC
Nomination: After missing the first few games of the season, Andy played the entire 70 minutes with sheer heart and will power. He only misplaced one pass throughout the entire match and often stretched his opponent’s defence. His also exhibited great skills when he intercepted a clearance inside the circle laid it in the path of the other attacker to score the equaliser.

Nomination: Normally selflessly assisting everyone else, today Claire scored all the goals in a 4-0 win.
