England Hockey would like to update on some of the
exciting changes planned for talent development in England; described by Performance Director Ed Barney as 'potentially some of the most significant changes to our
pathway in a decade, if not a lifetime.'
We have been asking ourselves what is right for the sport in the long run, and we are grateful to everyone who shared their views on this topic in the
Talent Survey earlier this year.
We want to engender change in genuine partnership, we want to create shared ambitions which will see a sport that is exciting and accessible for all. And, we want to see a sport that is inclusive and diverse, with a talent pipeline that everyone is proud of.
The intended direction of travel has today been
published in full in the document below from Ed.
Over the next few months, we will be setting up a number of forums and workshops to explore topics and develop the detail. Following on from this, in a few months, we hope to share a much more detailed plan for the future of junior talent development.
We would like to take this opportunity to recognise the hard work, commitment and passion of the people who support junior hockey. We look forward to working alongside you to deliver the next exciting chapter of English hockey.
