England Stars The Centre of Attention

Ahead of the Samsung FIH Champions Trophy in Nottingham this summer, members of the England women’s squad and management were the centre of attention at Highfields Sports Club on Thursday.

Hosting a media event for regional, national and specialist media outlets, Kate Walsh, Helen Richardson, Alex Danson and Crista Cullen were joined by Head Coach Danny Kerry and Performance Director David Faulkner as they answered questions on topics as diverse as their expectations for the tournament and their experiences of training with the Royal Marines.

Amongst the media in attendance were BBC East Midlands, ITV Central, BBC Radio Nottingham, Press AssociationThe Daily Telegraph, Daily Express, Nottingham Evening Post, The Derby Telegraph and PUSH hockey magazine.

Following a press conference in the Highfields clubhouse the players and media went pitch-side for individual interviews before demonstrating their skills.  They even let a couple of reporters take penalty strokes!

If you live in the local area make sure you keep an eye on your local media in the build up to the tournament, which gets underway on Saturday 10th July, with plenty of interviews conducted and more features to come.
