Launch of Quicksticks microsite

The new dedicated Quicksticks website, www.playquicksticks.co.uk, was unveiled at the SSP Conference in Telford on the 13th and 14th October 2010.

Quicksticks is EHB’s introductory hockey game, targeted specifically at primary schools and 7-11year olds. Quicksticks is fun, fast, safe and exciting and has been designed so that anyone with little or no hockey knowledge or background can deliver the game.

Small new Quicksticks logoThis exciting new website has all the information you need to enjoy Quicksticks including the rules, what equipment packages are on offer, how Quicksticks resources can aid delivery, teacher training, and everything you need to organise a Quicksticks festival!

Primary teachers have commented that “The Quicksticks resource is excellent because it easy for someone who isn’t a PE expert to deliver. The children really enjoy it. I have a mixed group of 7-11 year olds and all can participate and feel a sense of enjoyment”

A new online version of the INSET course will be able in early 2011. This interactive course will follow the same objectives and will be supported by videos and templates. It can also be completed at your own pace to fit in with your own schedule and commitments.

Quicksticks Kit Bag with EquipmentA range of equipment has been designed specifically to aid with the delivery of Quicksticks. New additional Quicksticks equipment packages will soon be available, giving schools and clubs more choice and accessibility to the popular Quicksticks equipment.

The game features small teams of six rotating roles with four players, one coach and one umpire at any one time,
With four players per side the game offers plenty of engagement and touches of the ball for all players,
Quicksticks uses a large ball designed to support skills development, it travels slower and is lighter than a standard hockey ball,
