Two days left until hockey hits Wembley Arena

On Sunday the 'fastest show in town' hits Wembley Arena. So we thought we'd have a bit of fun.

Indoor hockey is outdoor hockey's fast and thrilling indoor relation. Played in lightning quick 20 minute halves, with a squad of 12 players who appear regularly on the pitch due to the rolling substitutions allowed in hockey.

It's such a quick and exciting sport to watch and play we've named it 'the fastest show in town'...here some other fast things!

The fastest car in the world
Bugatti VeyronThe Bugatti Veyron - top speed: 267 mph, 0-60 in 2.5 secs. Made from aluminum, with a narrow angle 8 Liter W16 Engine with 1200 hp (whatever that may be!). According to website thesupercars.org this car is a snip at $1,700,000. We reckon that after import, tax and petrol costs a ticket to the super sixes National Indoor Hockey Finals makes a much better investment!

The fastest animal on land
CheetahOK so the cheetah can accelerate from 0-60 in three seconds and has an amazing ability of clocking a speed of 70 mph with immense ease. (buzzle.com) But both top England Hockey players Ashley Jackson and Richard Mantell can flick a ball at the same speed and score goals to boot! Whilst you won't get to see a cheetah on Sunday, you will get to see Richard Mantell playing for Reading in the Men's Semi-Finals against Beeston.

The fastest man on earth
Usain BoltUsain Bolt ran the 100m in 9.58 seconds and the 200m in 19.19 seconds, at the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Germany in 2009. His remarkable turn of pace makes him one of the key attractions at the forthcoming London 2012 Olympics...along with the GB hockey squads...many of whom will be playing on Sunday 30 January at Wembley Arena!

The fastest music
Now of course this is entirely subjective, but you can't get much faster than Al Hirt's Green Hornet Theme as heard in the Tarantino film Kill Bill #1. Click on the link below to hear the track - but don't try this on Sunday in Wembley Arena because you won't hear a thing as the crowd rally behind their favourite club.
