Salary: £30–£50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week

About Crewe Vagrants Hockey Club

Crewe Vagrants Hockey Club is one of Cheshire’s fastest-growing and most ambitious clubs, providing hockey opportunities for players of all ages and abilities. We currently field five men’s teams, five ladies’ teams and a thriving junior section, with a strong commitment to player development pathways and long-term success.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Performance Squad Coach, Player Coach, or Coaching Partnership to lead our performance programme and support the continued development of our Men’s 1st Team and wider performance pathway.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a progressive club that values coach development, innovation and creating an enjoyable high-performance environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

* Lead and deliver high-quality training sessions aligned with the club’s performance objectives.
* Support the development of players across technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of the game.
* Help transition talented junior players into senior performance hockey.
* Coach and support the Men’s 1st Team on match days.
* Contribute to performance analysis, video review and player development.
* Work alongside the club committee and coaching team to help shape the club’s long-term performance strategy.

Time Commitment

* Tuesday evening training (7:00pm–9:00pm)
* Weekly league fixture (typically Saturdays)
* Approximately five hours per week during the season.

Essential Criteria

* Significant coaching and/or high-level playing experience.
* Ability to plan and deliver engaging, structured coaching sessions.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Passion for developing players and maintaining high standards.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching team.

Desirable Criteria

* England Hockey Level 2 Coach (or equivalent qualification).
* Experience coaching senior performance squads.
* Experience using video analysis and performance review tools.
* Current First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications (or willingness to obtain).

Crewe Vagrants Hockey Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk. The successful applicant will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and provide two satisfactory references.
