King Edward VI School, Stratford is seeking an ambitious, passionate and inspirational Hockey Coach to join our thriving coaching team and play a leading role in the continued development of hockey across the School.

Hockey is one of the School's flagship performance sports, with a vibrant and growing programme involving more than 60 students in our senior section alone. From September through to March, we field four highly competitive boys', girls' and mixed teams, providing opportunities for players of all abilities to develop and excel.

Students are introduced to hockey from Year 7, building strong technical foundations through training in the Michaelmas Term before progressing into an extensive fixture and tournament programme during the Lent Term. Hockey enjoys a prominent place within the sporting life of the school, supported by excellent facilities, including a new state-of-the-art all-weather pitch, enthusiastic pupils, and a strong culture of participation and achievement.

Our recent success includes being crowned U18 National Champions (Tier 3) in 2023, and we are committed to building on this momentum as we continue to strengthen and expand the hockey programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about player development, enjoys working within a collaborative environment, and is committed to helping young people achieve their full potential both on and off the pitch.

This is a paid role with numeration at a competitive hourly rate.

The successful candidate will be:
- An outstanding role model who inspires and motivates young athletes.
- A strong team player who thrives within a collaborative coaching environment.
- An excellent communicator, able to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Approachable, enthusiastic and committed to creating an inclusive and supportive culture.
- Dedicated to adopting a whole-squad approach, ensuring every player is challenged, supported and developed.
- Passionate about maintaining high standards and driving excellent outcomes at all levels of performance.
- At least level 1 coaching and/or umpiring qualification (or be willing to work towards one)
