Knole Park HC: U14 – U18 Junior Hockey Coach
HC Knole Park SevenoaksWe are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced U14 – U18 Junior Hockey Coach to join our team and help develop our juniors in a positive, competitive, fun & supportive environment.
This position is on a part time basis/freelance. We are also prepared to be flexible on the role, to split it between more than one coach, and to offer more/fewer hours for the right coach/coaches.
About HCKP
We are a small but successful hockey club founded in 2019 based in Sevenoaks, Kent. We cater to all abilities, from social/beginner players to those who have ambitions to play for national teams. We train throughout the year and offer fun tours for all age groups.
Success Include
Since 2020 we have won the U16 girls National indoor title 4 times & 3 times at U18 level. We have also won girls Outdoor U12, and U16 National titles twice each & 3 times at U14 level. Our boys have won the U14 National Plate twice. We have won numerous medals at Indoor Hockey UK tournaments for both boys and girls. Our women's teams have won 4 National EH Cup titles at Tier 2 and Tier 4.

Role Overview
The successful candidate will need to work with our existing coaches & will be responsible for delivering high-quality training sessions, supporting player development, and promoting teamwork, discipline, and enjoyment. There is flexibility on the number of hours to be worked, which will be subject to agreement, and on the role; ideally we are looking for someone to provide indoor training for all age groups and to work with our U14+ age groups but there might be scope to help with younger age groups too.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead indoor training sessions – 3 hrs + per week
- Help with coaching for juniors – hours by agreement
- Provide junior match-day coaching on weekends – preferred but not essential
- Promote sportsmanship, motivation, and confidence
- Work closely with the coaching team & club committee
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience essential
- Strong knowledge of hockey rules, techniques, and tactics
- Excellent communication skills
- Relevant coaching and umpiring qualifications (or willingness to obtain them)
- DBS check & Safeguarding qualification
