Hours:Tuesday: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Sunday: 10:00am – 12:30pm
Pay: Competitive – based on coaching experience and playing background
About the Role / Club
Stockport Bramhall Hockey Club (SBHC) are proud to have a thriving and growing junior section, providing opportunities for young players of all abilities to develop their hockey in a positive and supportive environment.
Our junior programme includes U8, U10, U12 and U14 age groups, with sessions designed to build fundamental skills, game understanding, and a lifelong love for hockey. We aim to create an environment where players feel challenged, supported, and excited to improve each week.
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic coach to play a key role in delivering these sessions and supporting the continued growth of our junior section.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, engaging coaching sessions across our junior age groups, helping players develop technically, tactically, and socially within a structured club environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver structured, engaging hockey sessions for junior players
Develop core skills including passing, receiving, movement, and decision-making
Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Adapt sessions to suit different ages and ability levels (U8–U14)
Support player progression across the junior pathway
Encourage teamwork, communication, and enjoyment of the game
Assist with match preparation and support at fixtures/tournaments where required
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and fellow coaches
Ensure all sessions meet safeguarding and health & safety standards
Essential Requirements:
- England Hockey Lead Coach (Level 2 UKCC or equivalent)
- Experience coaching junior players (club, school, or community setting)
- Strong understanding of hockey skills and principles of play
- Ability to engage, motivate, and develop young players
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS (in date)
- Valid First Aid qualification
Desirable
Playing experience at club level or higher
Experience working within a junior club structure
Safeguarding certification
