Worksop Hockey Club and Worksop Ladies Hockey Club are on the lookout for a passionate, forward-thinking Hockey Coach to join us on Wednesday evenings!
While we operate as two separate clubs, we share one unified vision: to grow hockey in our local area, develop our players, and build an exciting future together. We are a small, friendly and ambitious club who are genuinely excited about what a new external coach can bring to our setup.
Our senior sessions bring together a supportive group across our Ladies 1st Team, Ladies 2nd Team, and Men's 1st Team. We need a coach who thrives on managing a mixed-ability dynamic—delivering sessions that keep our top-tier competitive while building confidence and skills across all squads.
Key Responsibilities:
Dynamic Training Delivery (Adult): Plan and execute engaging, multi-tiered sessions that challenge 1st XI players while developing 2nd XI talent.
Fresh Tactical Perspective: Bring new ideas, modern drills, and match tactics to help unite our playing style and push for growth across both clubs.
One-Vision Culture: Foster an encouraging, inclusive atmosphere that aligns our men's, ladies', and junior sections under our shared goals.
Junior Coaching: Lead the 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM junior session, inspiring the next generation of players and building clear pathways into senior hockey.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Coaching Experience: England Hockey Sessional Coach (Level 2 equivalent preferred) or proven experience coaching mixed-ability groups at the club level.
DBS Requirement: The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check for safeguarding purposes.
First Aid: A valid First Aid qualification is highly advantageous.
Mindset: Enthusiastic, approachable, and eager to share new coaching philosophies with a welcoming, progressive community.
Umpiring: Additional opportunities to be involved within the club on match day for those who are qualified.
What We Offer:
Competitive Pay: £25 per hour (£50 for the coaching period - 06:00 PM - 8:00PM).
Supportive Environment: A warm, social membership and two dedicated committees fully aligned behind your vision.
Development: Help us grow but also enhance your current knowledge and experience.
