Exeter University extended their lead at the top of Open/Mens Division One South after a 2-0 win over Havant. They were helped by the teams just below them going into Saturday’s matches both losing. Second placed Guildford let a 4-2 lead slip at Old Loughtonians whose new signing Ali Shan hit the decisive goal in a 5-4 win. Third placed Sevenoaks went down 3-0 at Teddington for whom Kyle White scored twice. The victors both move to the fringes of the title race. Bottom of the table Surbiton 2s earned their third point, drawing 2-2 with Indian Gymkhana. Two Mathew Ming goals saw Richmond beat Canterbury 2-1 and extend the gap between themselves and the Kent side in eighth to four points.

The top two met in Division One North and a 2-2 draw between Bowdon and Repton mean the latter stay unbeaten and top by a point. Richie Dawson-Smith gave Bowdon the lead at half time only for Archie Burden and Simon Claris to put visiting Repton 2-1 up. Simon Egerton equalised with 10 minutes to go. Third placed Loughborough Students were unable to take advantage as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Birmingham University. Deeside Ramblers moved off the foot of the table with a 3-1 home win against Olton & West Warwicks. Olton replace them in tenth. Above them Timperley picked up a useful point drawing 3-3 at Harborne, but it could have been more as they led 3-1 at the start of the fourth quarter. Nottingham took the honours in their University battle with Durham, winning 3-1.

George Godwin hit a hat-trick for Conference North leaders Leeds in a 4-3 win over bottom of the table Oxton. Oxton threatened a shock result, leading 3-1 at the break before Godwin’s second half goals turned things around.  Elsewhere on the Wirral there was more good news for Leeds as Neston, who were second at start of play, lost 3-2 to Lindum who replace them behind Leeds but the Yorkshire side now have an extended seven-point gap. Two goals in the last five minutes saw Ben Rhydding beat Doncaster 2-1 and pick up three useful points in their fight to keep out of the bottom two. They are now two points ahead of Newcastle University who drew 1-1 at Sheffield. Durham University 2s beat Didsbury Northern 2-0.

Clifton Robinsons stay top of Conference West after their 4-3 win over Marlow in their top of the table clash. After a goalless first half the game exploded after the break. Clifton leading 4-1 until a late surge from the visitors almost earned them a share of the spoils.  Chichester go second and unbeaten after a 1-0 win at Exeter University 2s. Ashmoor won at Team Bath Buccaneers by the same scoreline. Wins for Cardiff & Met 2s, 3-0 against Isca and Bristol University 3-1 at Fareham moved them six points clear of the relegation places.

Conference East leaders London Wayfarers stay top but were held to a 1-1 draw by Wimbledon 2s. A second half trio of corners from Matt Guise-Brown gave Hampstead & Westminster 2s a 3-0 win at Bromley & Beckenham to move them to within a point of Wayfarers. Holcombe 2s couldn’t make up ground, drawing 3-3 at Spencer. Old Cranleighan also lost ground going down 4-3 at Southgate 2s despite  hat-trick for James Cutter. Bottom of the table Brighton & Hove kept alive their hopes of avoiding the drop in beating Chelmsford 2-0.

Conference Midlands front-runners Leek continued where they’d left off with a 6-0 win at Stourport. Second placed Oxford Hawks lost ground in a 2-2 draw at Barford Tigers who stay ninth. St Albans beat City of Peterborough 4-1 and Banbury and Norwich City drew 1-1.   Birmingham University 2s stay bottom after they lost 3-2 at home to Nottingham University 2s.
