Exeter University moved nine points clear at the top of Open/Mens Division One South after a 4-2 win over their nearest rivals Guildford with Harry Markham scoring twice. Sevenoaks, who beat Havant 3-2 join Guildford on 25 points. At the other end of the table Surbiton 2s picked up their second win to move off the bottom. They defeated Teddington 8-4 with seven different players on the scoresheet. Canterbury slip to the foot, level on points with Surbiton but with an inferior goal difference, after a 2-2 draw at Indian Gymkhana. Havant are a point ahead of the bottom two, whilst Richmond, 2-1 winners over Old Loughtonians, move six points clear of them.
Jonathan Hawley and Si Claris both scored twice in Repton’s 6-3 win at Deeside Ramblers, which keeps the Derbyshire side three points ahead of Bowdon at the top of Division One North. Bowdon took the honours in their Cheshire derby with Timperley winning 5-1 including a brace in a minute for Simon Egerton. Third placed Loughborough Students won 6-0 at bottom of the table Olton & West Warwicks. Alexander Idoine scored all three of Harborne’s goals in their 3-2 win over Durham University. Birmingham University beat their Nottingham counterparts by the same scoreline.
The Conference North title race hotted up with Neston moving to within a point of leaders Leeds after winning 2-1 at Weetwood thanks to two Jack Cowley goals. Lindum lost ground in third after being held 2-2 at Sheffield who stay fourth. At the foot of the table Oxton remain bottom but did earn a point from their game with eighth placed Didsbury Northern, the game ending 1-1 which keeps them six points from safety. Ben Rhydding, who lost 5-3 at home to Newcastle University are a point above Oxton in ninth.
There was a surprise in Conference West where leaders Clifton Robisnons were beaten for the first time. 3-2 at Exeter University 2s. Nathan Sumner scored twice for Exeter who move out of the bottom two on the back of this result. Clifton’s lead at the top is cut to three points, Marlow in second winning 3-1 at Fareham who drop into the relegation zone. Third placed Chichester beat bottom of the table Isca 8-1. Willem Owens scored the only goal of the game as Bristol University moved three points clear of the drop zone thanks to a 1-0 win against Ashmoor. Team Bath Buccaneers won 4-3 at Cardiff & Met 2s.
Josh Kelly hit a hat-trick in Conference East leaders Hampstead & Westminster 2s 5-2 win at Southgate 2s. Holcombe 2s also went nap in a 5-1 win over Chelmsford. They go above London Wayfarers into second place after Wayfarers were downed 2-1 by Spencer for whom Richard Heywood scored a last minute winner. Brighton & Hove came from 3-1 down to beat Wimbledon 2s 4-3 which means they leapfrog the losers going into ninth place. Old Cranleighan won 3-2 at Bromley & Beckenham.
Leek are now the only unbeaten Conference side. They lead the Midlands by four points after their latest win, a hard fought 2-1 victory at City of Peterborough. Oxford Hawks stay second thanks to their 7-2 win over bottom of the table Stourport which included a hat-trick for Archie Armstrong. St Albans won 3-2 at Birmingham University 2s to leave the students five points from safety in ninth. Barford Tigers extend the gap above the relegation zone to five points thanks to a 3-1 over Norwich City. Nathan Hochman scored twice as Banbury won 2-1 at Nottingham University 2s.Division One North Top Scorers

Women’s Division One North leaders Buckingham leaders remain four points clear at the top despite not wining a game since the mid-season break. On Saturday they drew 3-3 with their closest rivals Gloucester City. Leanne Grimsley looked to have earned all three points with a 65th minute goal that put them 3-2 up but Sally Walton equalised for Gloucester two minutes later. Beeston’s Sophie Robinson scored twice in a 3-0 win over Pendle Forest to move her side to within a point of Gloucester. At the other end of the table Repton now find themselves seven points from safety. They lost 2-1 at Ben Rhydding in a six pointer, Ben Rhydding move up from eighth to sixth and Olton & West Warwicks, who were ninth before play, beat Loughborough Students 2s by the same scoreline to rise from ninth to seventh. Leeds, who lost 2-1 at Sutton Coldfield drop to ninth.
Teddington stay six points out in front of Division One South. They faced stern opposition in their local derby at Surbiton 2s and the game was tied at 2-2 going into the last ten minutes before goals from Kayla De Waal and Trixie Nicholson made it 4-2 to the visitors. Second placed Exeter University beat Guildford 3-1. Guildford stay ninth, five points from safety. Below them Harleston Magpies relegation was confirmed in a 3-0 defeat at Southgate. Two Lily Elliott goals helped Sevenoaks to a 3-2 win at Reading 2s to move them eight points clear of the relegation zone. Holcombe beat Bristol Firebrands 3-2 thanks to a last minute stroke conversion from Robyn Hodges.
Team Bath Buccaneers extended their lead at the top of Conference West to two points. They beat Exeter 2-0 and saw closest rivals Cardiff & Met drop points in a 2-2 draw at Clifton Robinsons 2s. Clifton move up to seventh but still in the relegation fight. Cheltenham move off the bottom of the table up to eighth thanks to a 3-2 win over Oxford University. They are replaced by Slough who lost by the same score at Trojans, Exeter are ninth. A 1-1 draw between Lansdown and Marlow dented the home team’s title hopes but was a useful point for the visitors in the battle to avoid the drop.
A 2-0 win at Sheffield means Bowdon 2s remain top of Conference North. They lead Alderley Edge by three points although the latter improved their goal difference with a 7-2 defeat of Wakefield, in which Amelie Long scored four. The beaten teams remain in the bottom two, four points from safety. Newcastle University in third lost ground after a 3-2 defeat at Kirkby Stephen. Whitley Bay & Tynemouth beat Didsbury Northern 2-0 and Fylde won 1-0 at Durham University 2s.
The top two in Conference Midlands both won so Leicester City remain a point to the good. They beat Cambridge University 3-1 and second placed Birmingham University 2s defeated St Albans 1-0. Behind them Cambridge City and Oxford Hawks stayed in touch with wins. Cambridge overcame Cannock 4-3 and Hawks saw off Stourport 3-1. Stourport stay ninth and below them Harleston Magpies 2s relegation is confirmed after a 6-1 home defeat at the hands of Nottingham Trent University.
Katie MacCallum scored the only goal of the game as Old Loughtonians beat Conference East leaders Hampstead & Westminster 2s 1-0 to take over from them at the top of the table. Hampstead now trail Loughts by two points and are joined on 28 points by Old Georgians 4-1 winners against Barnes 2s. With Guildford 2s winning 3-1 at Wapping and Canterbury securing a 2-1 win over Wimbledon 2s, Barnes and Wapping now find themselves six and nine points from safety respectively. London Wayfarers and Spencer drew 0-0.
