Alex became the first player - male or female - born after 2000 to play for Great Britain when she made her senior international debut in 2019.
She was then a reserve for England at the 2021 EuroHockey Championships before receiving her first call-up for the FIH Hockey Pro League games in February 2022. That came shortly after she was confirmed in the GB training squad for that year.
In the summer of 2022 she was a reserve for both England’s World Cup and Commonwealth Games squads.
