    England Hockey is recruiting for a Development Programme Assistant Coach. Reporting to the Development Programme lead (Craig Keegan, women; Jon Bleby, men), the Development Programme Assistant Coach will be responsible for assisting with, and on occasions, responsible for leading coaching and delivery of the Development Programme. The priorities for the role are: • To create a high performance learning environment that focuses on athlete development and long-term senior success • To be jointly responsible for the progression and performance of the Development Programme The Development Programme is an integral part of England and Great Britain’s talent development strategy, designed to accelerate and deepen the development of our future elite level players. Through regular, high quality contact with the right athletes, the programme aims to deliver a higher quality and a greater depth of players to senior programmes.

    The England Hockey National Age Group programme is an integral part of the wider, holistic talent development strategy designed to accelerate the development of our future elite level players. A programme providing regular contact time on a regional and central basis, incorporating technical and tactical input alongside education in lifestyle management, strength and conditioning, nutrition, psychology and injury management. All of which form the basis of the holistic environment of our developing players. The National Age Group Head Coach will be responsible for: • Leading the National Age Group Activity, including selection of players (Approx. 42 days) • Leading a National Age Group Academy Centre (NAGs Academy Centre) (Approx. 15 days) • Working as a lead coach at AASE and Sainsbury School Games (Approx.16 days) In addition, the National Age Group Head Coach will be expected to attend National Age Group Head Coach meetings (up to 3 days) and Continuous Professional Development opportunities (up to 3 days). These days will be remunerated at the agreed daily rate.
