Volunteer at the Women's Hockey World Cup

Hockey Makers

Be one of 1000 volunteers at the Women’s Hockey World Cup as it comes to London on 21 July to 3 August as applications open on Friday 15 September.

This is the first time England has hosted a Women’s World Cup where sixteen teams from across the world go head to head at the home of hockey, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in the Queen Elizabeth Park in London.

England Hockey volunteers are known as Hockey Makers and have a reputation of being the most welcoming and enthusiastic volunteers in sport.

Applications open Friday 15th September and close on 16th October, anyone can apply to become a Hockey Maker. From our welcome team on the last mile to our logistic team back of house, there are a number of roles to suit all ages and abilities and you don’t have to be a hockey expert.

Andy Tapley the head of the organising committee said: "Volunteers are the heartbeat of our sport, not only on a day to day basis in our clubs, but even more so to help make our events happen. We know - because everyone who attends our tournaments tells us - that our Hockey Makers go above and beyond to help put on the best and most enjoyable event possible.

"The Women’s World Cup is the biggest hockey event ever to be held in UK and it is coming to the capital London. We are hoping to inspire the local community to get involved and becoming a hockey maker is a great way to do so.  I guarantee you will make friends, renew acquaintances, work hard but have a whole lot of fun."
