2018 Safeguarding Engagement Day

On Sunday 22nd July, England Hockey’s Ethics and Welfare Team will be hosting a Safeguarding Engagement Day at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre. This will be a chance for Welfare Officers to be able to discuss the topics that they wish to cover with the Ethics and Welfare Team, along with presentations from the team and guest speakers. As the engagement day will be taking place at the same time as the 2018 Vitality Women’s Hockey World Cup, those who attend will receive a ticket to the match between Argentina and Spain. There is a small fee of £12 to pay, which includes lunch and the match ticket.

If you wish to receive the booking form for the Safeguarding Engagement Day or want to find out more information, please contact Stuart Thomas (email at the bottom of this page) under the title '2018 Safeguarding Engagement Day. The deadline for signing up to attend is Tuesday 1st May, so be quick if you want to secure a place.

Safeguarding ‘Call To Action’

As of 5th October 2017, we have released a new Safeguarding ‘Call to Action’ document to clubs for the 2017/18 season. It contains a number of minimum standards for clubs to sign up to in regards to the Welfare of players under 18 years old. The document shows what the requirements are and contains useful links that will show your club how to meet each requirement. Once your club meets the requirements, the completed document can be sent to Stuart Thomas so that he may send you a poster that you club can show on your website and/or facilities.
