Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre

England v USA Crowd HWC 2018
Since 2014 the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre - a London 2012 legacy venue - has been the home of English hockey.

Set in the Queen Elizabeth Park and boasting two world-class pitches, the venue has become home to a number of clubs in East London, an area that has traditionally struggled for good quality hockey facilities.

Each year it is home to the national league and knockout finals and has also played host to a number of international events, including the 2015 EuroHockey Nations Championship in which England's women won gold.

The capacity was then doubled for the 2018 Vitality Hockey Women's World Cup, with more than 10,500 people packed in to roar on England as they battled for gold. With the FIH Pro League starting in 2019, it is also hoped that this will become a regular occurrence as both the Great Britain men's and women's teams both play eight games on home soil every year.

The Olympic Park is also packed full with a variety of other fun activities you can do to ensure you make the most of your day out in London!
About Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre
The Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre is owned, funded and managed by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority. With a history of sporting activity dating back over a century the venue, built as a legacy of London 2012, is certainly continuing this tradition.

It features a Hockey Centre which, with two pitches, has become the venue for England Hockey’s national events and the home of local teams as well as the England and Great Britain sides. It hosted the 2015 EuroHockey Nations Championship and the 2017 Men’s Hockey World League Semi-Final.

Furthermore it was the scene of many historical moments at the 2018 Vitality Hockey Women's World Cup, with 10,500 people cheering on England throughout the tournament, an atmosphere which will be replicated when the FIH Pro League begins in 2019 as both the GB men's and women's teams play eight games on home soil each year.

Lee Valley also boasts a Tennis Centre with four indoor and six outdoor courts which are also used as a wheelchair performance centre and for regional tennis development programmes.
