HEAD COACH - Closing Date: 12pm (UK time), Monday 11th June 2018

Following repeated women’s medal success at the London and Rio Olympics, and more recently at the European Championships and Commonwealth Games for men and women, hockey is now focused on delivering consistent world-level success for men and women at the 2018 World Cups and at Tokyo 2020.

England Hockey (EH) is recruiting for an inspirational Head Coach to lead its ambitious and successful senior men’s team to further international success, and to contribute to the leadership of hockey’s coach development and talent identification programmes

We are seeking world class, exceptional applicants to be responsible for transitioning the men’s programme to a place of delivering systemic and consistent international success on the world stage, most specifically, medal winning performances at world-level events and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.  We are looking for individuals who are able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of world-class performance achievements at the highest level (Olympic level competition) in a coaching capacity 
  • Outstanding technical and tactical hockey knowledge of individual and team principles including techniques, tactics, coaching trends and International developments
  • Experience in planning, organising and implementing a comprehensive high-performance coaching programme for international teams and athletes, which has had demonstrable impact
  • Experience and proven ability in the holistic development of athletes and programmes
  • Experience of working with multiple partners to achieve success 
  • High performance coaching qualifications and / or relevant continuous professional development

COACH DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP - Closing Date: 1st July 2018

England Hockey is recruiting for a Coach Development Intern to join the Coaching Team from September 2018 through to September 2019.

ROLE SUMMARY               

The Coach Development Internship will be within the Coaching Team which is part of the Performance Department at England Hockey.

The Coach Development Intern will work closely with the Coaching Officer and the rest of the team to develop new projects, programmes and systems to support the development of the Coach Development Pathway.

England Hockey have a coaching strategy to lead the culture and support to excel in the creation of more, better and happier players. This role will support the organisation in delivering this strategy and providing coaches with a clear message on what support they can access and what development will best support them in the role them are playing. With the overall aim of increasing the experience and number of people playing our sport across the country.

Working with a wide variety of stakeholders the role will require a reliable and confident individual who is a good communicator and who can work well with a variety of people. This role will cross over with a number of different departments in the business including the Development, Commercial, and Ethics and Compliance department.

This role gives an opportunity to be involved in a number of different areas, from project management, to marketing and communication. England Hockey are hosting the Women’s World Cup in London in July and so there is also an opportunity to get involved in event management.
