Diploma in Sporting Excellence

The Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) programme is a government funded scheme designed to directly measure the athletes' ability to plan, apply and evaluate their development in the appropriate aspects of hockey.

The programme covers a range of modules:

  • Strength and Conditioning
  • Psychology
  • Nutrition
  • Wellbeing
  • Media and Communication Skills
  • Career development
  • Lifestyle Managament
  • And many more
Who delivers DiSE?
The DiSE programme is delivered in partnership between England Hockey and Loughborough College. Players will be expected to attend four national camps that provide a rich blend of on-pitch technical and tactical sessions, presentations, 1-2-1s and elements of portfolio work.

How do I take part?
For the 2018/2019 intake players must have been born between 1 September 2001-31 August 2002 and have been nominated for invitation to the programme by their Performance Centre.

Players born between 1 September 2000-31 August 2001 and selected for the Futures Cup in August 2018 are also eligible.
