Club Definition
England Hockey welcomes all hockey clubs as members. It is, however, necessary to define a club in order to provide clarity on membership. Clubs come in all shapes and sizes but there are some aspects that differentiate a club from a school, a corporate teams or a BUCS-only team. There are separate arrangements for schools who wish to become members of England Hockey and membership of England Hockey is NOT required to enter any England Hockey competitions or any hockey-related school games activity.

Characteristics of a club:
  • Plays league hockey at the weekend
  • Has a bank account with two authorised signatories
  • Has a formal constitution approved by the club committee
  • Carries appropriate insurance
  • Has open membership
  • Is committed to achieving the objectives within Uniting the Hockey Family
  • If the club has juniors, has achieved or is committed to achieving and maintaining Clubsmark, evidencing that they are a safe, effective and child-friendly club
England Hockey reserves the right to refuse affiliation to any club in line with its constitution.

If you have any questions regarding affiliation, please contact or called 01628 897500 and we will get back to you.

Please note - New clubs should contact the number above, where you will be advised as to how to set up your profile.
