Georgie Twigg

The youngest member of the Great Britain women’s hockey team at London 2012, ‘Twiggy’, as she is known, made her Olympic debut just over two years after her first senior international appearance for England at the Champions Trophy in Nottingham. Her goal against South Africa at the 2010 Commonwealth Games was enough to help England win the bronze medal in Delhi. Never seen without her trademark pearl earrings, the fashionable young midfielder has a Law degree from Bristol University as well as a Legal Practitioner's Course post-London 2012. She has won the England Hockey Young Player of the Year award multiple times and, in May 2012, carried the Olympic torch through the city. Twigg has a European Gold medal to her name and is widely regarded as one of the most consistent and reliable performers in the side. Having already pocketed an Olympic bronze in 2012 and a European gold in 2015, Twigg helped Great Britain to a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
