WOMEN’S 2ND TEAM COACH SPECIFICATION
 
This is an exciting opportunity to work with Clifton Robinsons HC Women's 2nd team for the 2025/2026 season and beyond. The team is a performance squad playing in the EH Conference West, wo have finished in the top three of the League for the past three seasons, narrowly missing out on promotion. The candidate will be expected to keep the teams league position, and push for promotion.
The Main duties are:
·      To prepare and deliver a pre-season programme in collaboration with the W1 and W3 coaches, to identify the 2nd team squad. Starting on 12th August 2025
·      To prepare and deliver high quality training sessions weekly during the season. With the team thoroughly prepared physical and tactically for the weekend games.
·      To select the team for games at the weekend in consultation with the 1st team and 3rd team coaches.
·      To be present and lead the team’s match day preparation for friendly, cup and league games.
·      To work closely with the captain and players’ leadership group, the team manager and other coaches throughout the season.
·      To develop all players. 
·      Help identify those with potential to play for the 1st team and those in the 3s to play in the 2s.
·      To provide regular team and player feedback including the use of video material and statistics.
·      Help identify players outside of the club who are of the right standard and mentality to play for CRHC W2 who might want to come and join.
·      Comply with the EH Coaches code of conduct when representing Clifton Robinsons Hockey Club.
·      To be an active member of the Performance Coaches Community within the Club.
 
Make Up of the Squad
·      A mixture of ex 1s, experienced adults, and aspiring juniors. 
·      There will also on occasions be W1 and W3 present.
 
About the club
·      Based in across Southwest Bristol with over 700 members
·      2 women’s and 1 men’s National League teams
·      4 women’s and 7 men’s teams playing in the West Hockey League
·      Boys and Girls U18, U16, U14, U12 and U10 
·      Women's and Men’s O35, 45 and 55 Masters Teams
·      Mixed hockey team
 
The successful candidate must possess the following:
Skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications
·      Minimum UKCC EH Coach Award (Level 2) qualification and strong evidence of recent hockey knowledge updates.
·      Experience of coaching hockey.
A knowledge and relevant experience in the following areas: 
·      Tactics to deliver results 
·      Planning sessions specific to task that maximise contact time 
·      Coaching science and best practice 
·      Athlete preparation and empowerment
·      Performance analysis
·      Good leadership, organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as autonomously.
·      An effective communicator, with the ability to engage, consult, liaise, and influence, colleagues and athletes and show an understanding of appropriate professional relationships with athletes and staff. 
·      Ability to communicate with a range of players of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. 
·      Ability to enthuse and motivate.
·      Ability to give and receive effective and constructive player and team feedback.
·      Reliable and committed to a performance club ethos.
