Leeds HC: Women's First Team Head Coachh

Leeds Hockey Club is seeking an experienced, motivated and committed Head Coach to join the coaching team at one of the highest-performing hockey clubs in the North of England.

Following promotion to Division 1 North for the 2025/26 season, our Women’s 1st XI secured an 8th-place finish. As the squad prepares for a second consecutive campaign in Division 1 North, we are looking for a coach who can build on this success and help drive the programme forward.

This is a paid position, with remuneration dependent on experience. Applications are welcomed from individuals who meet the criteria below, including those interested in undertaking the role alongside an assistant coach or team manager.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and coach the Women’s 1st XI across the full season programme, including:

• Outdoor league fixtures (September–March)
• Indoor competitions during the Christmas period
• Pre-season friendlies and training (August–September)
• Deliver a minimum of one training session per week.
• Conduct and implement video analysis to support team and player development.
• Manage player selection on both a seasonal and weekly basis.
• Create and oversee individual player development plans.
• Liaise effectively with club committee members, captains and other coaches.
• Support league administration, including player registration and travel coordination.
• Assist with sponsorship engagement for both the team and individual players.

Essential Criteria

• England Hockey/FIH Level 2 qualification (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this with demonstrable coaching experience
• Extensive knowledge of both indoor and outdoor hocke
• Organised, reliable and committed
• Valid DBS check, safeguarding certification and first aid qualification

Desirable Criteria

• Experience coaching in the National League
• Experience coaching junior players
• Experience using video analysis within a coaching environment
