Men's 1st Team Coach

MHC are looking to recruit a high achieving coach with experience of delivering team and player improvement, who can help the Men's first team seek promotion from SE Division 1 East.

Job Title: Men's 1st Team Coach
Primary Location: Maidstone Hockey Club, Armstrong Road, Maidstone, ME15 6AZ
Hours & Pay: Negotiable on application

Role:

• Coach of the Men's 1st team
• Deliver an inclusive and progressive coaching ethos
• Promote a positive image of MHC at all times
• Keep up-to-date with current coaching methods and techniques as determined by England hockey
• Familiarise and cooperate fully with all relevant MHC policy and procedures

Skills Requirements:

• Be able to support individual player development
• Experience of working with young players (U18’s and below)
• Ability to clearly communicate to all levels
• Ability to provide constructive feedback
• To be able to manage and resolve conflict

What you will need:

• Minimum UKCC Level 2 in Hockey Coaching or equivalent
• A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
• An in-date First Aid certificate
• Current child protection certificate – safeguarding children
• Evidence of Continual Professional Development (CPD)

Maidstone Hockey Club are based in south Maidstone with a modern clubhouse and adjacent pitch we are one of the oldest hockey clubs in the country expected to celebrate our 150th anniversary within the 27/28 season. We run 4 Ladies and 6 men’s teams catering for all ability levels along with entering teams into Competitive Cup competitions including
Veteran and mixed hockey. We have a well-established and growing junior section offering hockey to a wide range of ages and abilities. MHC has a great community base and there are numerous opportunities to engage socially both during the season and over the summer months. The club have big ambitions and aspire to reach new heights in the coming seasons.
