Stockton Hockey Club are seeking an ambitious and driven Women's Player/Coach to lead and develop our women’s section. This is a paid coaching opportunity with flexibility for the right candidate to combine playing and coaching.
The Club
Stockton Hockey Club is a welcoming, ambitious and community-driven club with clear plans for growth.
We are entering an exciting phase, including:
Launch of a Women's 2nd XI
Continued expansion of our junior section
Building a clear player pathway into senior hockey
Our aim is to create a competitive, sustainable ladies section with depth and long-term success.
The Role
We are looking for a paid Player/Coach (or Coach) to coach our Women's performance group (1s & 2s).
This is a key role within the club, offering the opportunity to:
Shape the direction of a growing ladies section
Develop players across multiple levels
Play competitive hockey (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities
Deliver structured, high-quality training sessions (pre-season & in-season)
Lead/support the team on matchdays (Saturdays)
Work with captains on tactics, structure and playing style
Support junior transition into senior hockey
Help establish and grow the Women's 2nd XI
Build a positive, inclusive and ambitious culture
Support player recruitment and retention
About You
Experienced coach or player/coach
Passionate about developing players and building teams
Strong communicator with leadership qualities
Organised, reliable, and committed
Excited by an ambitious, long-term project
Desirable:
Coaching qualifications (or working towards)
Experience with junior development
Strong playing background
