Team Bath Buccaneers are seeking two ambitious and committed coaches to lead our Women’s and Men’s 2nd Teams, working closely alongside our performance squad coaches.

About the Club

Team Bath Buccaneers is a thriving and ambitious hockey club, offering a strong performance and development environment:

7 men’s and 7 women’s teams
A large and successful junior section
A Talent Academy linked to the club
Strong links with local schools competing at a high level
The club is based at the University of Bath Sports Training Village, providing excellent facilities and a high-performance setting.

 
The Role

Both squads compete at a high standard and feature a mix of:

Senior players
Emerging young talent
Players aspiring to break into the 1st XI
As a 2nd Team Coach, you will play a key role in:

Creating a positive culture within the squad
Developing players capable of progressing into the 1st teams
Develop a playing style which aligns with the performance teams
This role is ideal for a coach who values both competitive success and long-term player development, and who sees performance as part of a club-wide strategy.

 
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging weekly training sessions
(Thursdays: 7:00–8:30 pm or 8:30–10:00 pm)
Work closely with 1st team coaches to support player progression 
Lead on team selection and contribute to wider squad discussions
Establish and maintain high standards of behaviour, preparation, and accountability
Support the development of players transitioning from junior and lower senior teams
 
About You

You will:

Be a qualified coach able to work on your own
Have a strong understanding of performance hockey and player development
Be able to create a positive, challenging, and ambitious environment
Be an excellent communicator, capable of building strong relationships with players and fellow coaches
