Nottingham Tram Announced As Title Sponsor For The NET Masters Hockey World Cups 2022

Over 1,000 athletes from over 15 countries will compete at the Nottingham Hockey Centre.

NET, Nottingham’s iconic tram network, has been announced as the title sponsor of the World Masters Hockey Cups 2022 taking place in Nottingham this summer.

After several years of cancellations and disruption due to COVID-19, the Over 35 and Over 40 Masters World Cups will take place in the Nottingham Hockey Centre between Friday 12 August and Sunday 21 August.

Over 50 teams will compete in the tournament from over 15 different countries including Australia, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, South Africa and Egypt.

Alison Sweeney, marketing manager of Tramlink, said: “We are delighted to be able to support such a prestigious international event coming to Nottingham, especially after the last few years.

“Over 1000 athletes, along with their friends, family and spectators, will arrive from all over the world, giving a big boost to Nottingham this summer.

“We want to play our part in what will be a great sporting spectacle, providing an easy, quick and green transport option for the event. The tram is the best way for the athletes, teams and spectators to experience everything Nottingham has to offer and to showcase our great City to our guests.

Those connected with the tournament will be able to purchase a discounted pass for the duration of the tournament, providing unlimited travel on the tram network which runs directly from the Nottingham Hockey Centre to the City Centre.
