Promote Your Events through BBC Sport’s Get Inspired Initiative!

Looking to attract more members to your club? BBC Sport is offering you the opportunity to reach a new audience as part of its Commonwealth Games coverage.

Get Inspired is a pan-BBC initiative to promote participation and encourage individuals to get involved in grass-root sports activities. Plans for coverage of the summer’s key events include highlighting Get Inspired to the large broadcast and online audiences and pointing them towards activities taking place in their local area. All you need to do to benefit from this promotion is add details of your regular training sessions to the BBC’s easy to use activity finder – Things To Do.

Clubs already signed up to Things To Do are being featured on key BBC programme websites, including BBC Sport, regional news pages and articles. It’s a great opportunity to engage with new audiences by serving up a selection of local opportunities. In the first half of this year 375,000 unique visitors have clicked on the sport activities featured on Things To Do.

Adding your details is quick and easy and if you do so in time, you’ll also benefit from coverage during Wimbledon and the World Cup where there are also plans to highlight Get Inspired. The initiative continues right up to the Rio Olympics in 2016 so as long as you keep adding new dates for your sessions, they’ll continue to be promoted.

How Do I Upload My Activities?

Go to www.bbc.in/activitymaker and become a partner by clicking the link and registering. All you’ll need are the activity details and a photo that successfully showcases your activity. If you don’t have one, there is advice on how you can source one once you're on the site. The Things To Do team are happy to help if you have any questions. Contact them via activitymaker@bbc.co.uk
