Giselle Ansley

Since making her international back in 2013, Giselle has become a key component in the backline for both the England and Great Britain teams.

The strong and powerful defender – who also possesses a wicked aerial – has already claimed an impressive array of silverware, including Olympic and European gold medals, and was also voted the 2019 Hockey Writers’ Club Women’s Player of the Year. She has also been a part of the all-conquering Surbiton team over the last few seasons.

Giselle was introduced to the sport from a pushchair, watching her Mum playing back at home in Devon, and now has a pitch named after her at Plymouth Marjon HC, ensuring her legacy will live on in the area for a long time yet.

Away from the pitch, Giselle – who gained a Sport & Exercise Science degree from Loughborough University – is also a highly talented cricketer and loves to kayak whenever she gets the time. She is also a very keen baker and is well known amongst the squad for her delicious birthday cakes.
