As we look to the future of hockey in England, we’re thrilled to introduce an upgraded membership model that brings unparalleled support, access, and opportunities for your club. Starting September 2025.
The new membership changes will have a significant positive impact on the future of hockey in England. There are three new elements to membership, and one factor is the increased visibility of the sport, which will be supported by free-to-air broadcasts on Channel 4. While this broadcast partnership will help raise awareness, the real driving force behind the changes is the focus on getting more kids playing hockey in state schools. With the backing of School Games Organisers (SGOs), this initiative will open up opportunities for young people to experience hockey and spark long-term interest in the sport.
In addition, the changes will ensure that more coaches are available in clubs through free coaching courses. As the sport becomes more accessible and engaging for youth players, the need for qualified coaches grows, creating a self-sustaining cycle. This increase in coaching capacity will support the development of young talent, ultimately expanding the player pool across the country and strengthening the future of hockey in England.

From September 2025, a new annual player registration fee of £15.50 for teens and adults, and £10 for U12s will be introduced. This fee is more than just a registration cost – it's an investment in your experience, your development, and the future of hockey. Here's how:

20% of your fee funds free courses in coaching, officiating, and safeguarding – ensuring those who lead your sessions are trained to the highest standard. You’ll also have access to these courses yourself, helping you build new skills or get involved in giving back to the sport.

The final 20% of your fee powers game-changing initiatives to grow and promote hockey:
- Free-to-air hockey on Channel 4 means more people can watch the sport you love.
