To make hockey more visible, relevant and accessible to all young people, we're going beyond places where traditional hockey is played, taking the sport to community groups and doorstep clubs.
Whilst we have a network of hundreds of amazing hockey clubs, we recognise that to reach our under-represented audiences, we need to bring hockey to the young people and facilitate inclusive playing opportunities, in an environment where they feel fully comfortable.
By empowering leaders from within communities, we can offer an informal, flexible and fun introduction to hockey which can be adapted to meet the needs of the young people.
Partnerships with National organisations such as StreetGames will help us make progress in this environment, but we’re also keen to work with smaller, localised groups as well, so if you want to play hockey in your community group, please contact us at participation@englandhockey.co.uk for more information.
