The objective of the ACP Foundation Programme is to provide you with a greater understanding and application of the learning process, with the objective of preparation for the main ACP. You will:
- Exhibit increased self-awareness and reflective skills.
- Explore an appetite for further learning and self-development.
- Continue to seek out theories, principles, and influences to apply to your coaching.
- Be equipped with the skills needed to effectively self-develop.
- Find the programme delivers a valuable, stand-alone learning opportunity.

The ACP Foundation Programme is built around laying a secure foundation in learning and awareness and is an introduction to the concepts around the topic of self.
You will be supported to be the key driver of your experience: the structure of the programme includes four online workshops (with 1:1 catch-ups available), providing opportunities for video feedback and observation, a professional discussion, and personalised action planning. Throughout the course, you will also engage in peer group sense-making opportunities to create a valuable network of coaches. -
The ACP Foundation Programme is designed to support coaches in laying a secure foundation in learning, awareness, and reflective abilities. It is specifically targeted at:
- Coaches who may have not coached for a while.
- Coaches who have recently completed the series of workshops currently available.
The programme enhances your ability to pursue goal-directed behaviours based on cognitive challenge and acts as a link to the main Advanced Coach Programme.

This eight-month learning programme costs £250.

The ACP Foundation Programme is subject to an application process.

Application Window and TimelineThe early application window is open now and will close on Monday 12 January 2026 at midnight.
The main application window will then open on Monday 2 March at 10am and will close on Monday 13 April 2026 at midnight.
The workshops for the 2026-2027 cohort run from September 2026 to April 2027.
Application Requirements and CriteriaTo complete your application, you will be asked for details of the following:
- Coaching experience
- Any previous ACP applications
- Coaching practice
- Reference
- A short video application, including coaching practice footage.
