Our Coach Course combines online learning with practical, on-pitch training to help you improve your knowledge and understanding of hockey intelligence. You’ll learn how to deliver sessions that meet your players’ needs and gain the confidence to run fun, engaging training sessions.

- Fresh and ready to use ideas: Gain knowledge of the latest hockey game trends and improve your coaching skills and understanding of hockey intelligence. This will help you plan sessions that meet your player’s needs and give you the confidence to deliver fun, engaging and safe training.
- Get on the pitch and connect: Join other coaches from across the country and our Coach Developer Team for a face to face session. A chance to network, share best practices, apply your learning and build a supportive coaching community.
- Feedback on your coaching: Through a video assessment and discussion with your tutor, you’ll gain valuable insights and feedback on your coaching practice. This will help you build confidence and discover fresh ideas to enhance how you deliver hockey in your setting.
- Learn in small groups: The course is interactive, with opportunities to take part in small group discussions and complete tasks such as watching videos and planning practical activities.

This workshop uses a variety of interactive learning formats to keep you engaged and supported throughout your journey. To gain your certificate, you must complete all the following elements:
- Online Learning Modules (x12): Introduce and share key content around Self, Player, Environment and Game, that will be used and applied throughout the course.
- Facilitated Online Modules 1.5 hours long (x3): Connect with our Great Britain Tutor delivery team and coaches nationwide to explore the content of Self, Player and Environment in depth, and apply it to real-life coaching scenarios.
- On Pitch Practical Session (x1): Apply all the learning on the pitch, facilitated by our Coach Developer Team
- Facilitated Conversations with a Coach Developer (x2): One-to-one discussions to address individual challenges and questions at different points in the course.
- Online Portfolio: Complete assignments covering the topics of Self, Player, Environment, and Game.

This course is designed for coaches aged 18 and over who lead and deliver sessions independently. Whether you are coaching within a club, university, or county setting, or working within a talent centre or academy, this programme is designed for you. It also supports those taking their expertise into schools and community environments.
