Didsbury Northern HC: Men's Performance Coach

Didsbury Northern Hockey Club is a vibrant and inclusive club, committed to developing players of all ages and skill levels.

Our Men’s 2ndXI are in the North West Premier Division and are looking to build a platform which fosters a framework to push into the National League structure in future seasons. The Men’s 2XI were recently promoted into the Premier division and after a successful first season are looking to lay down a foundation to take them even further harnessing a performance culture within the Mens 1XI and 2XI.

Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Coach/Player Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, a strong understanding of coaching and/or playing at this level if not higher, as well as the ability to inspire and motivate players. We are looking for someone who can be adaptable and will get the best out of the talent we have in Didsbury’s 2XI squad and wider performance squad.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organise, and conduct an effective training program.
Attend all 2XI matches.
Develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
Provide constructive feedback and support to players to enhance their skills and performance providing a platform to progress.
Use of video analytics to develop players and game tactics.
Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
Monitor and evaluate player progression and development.
Collaborate with Men’s 1XI coaches to ensure a cohesive club coaching approach. 

Qualifications:

Previous coaching experience at a similar level.
Relevant coaching certifications (e.g., Level 2 or equivalent, safeguarding, first aid, etc).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with players of all ages and varying abilities.
Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
 
Rate of pay:

Negotiable depending on experience.
