Back DBS Update Service

What is the process for using the DBS Update Service with England Hockey?

  1. Advise the Ethics & Welfare Administrator that you wish to have a Status Check performed.
  2. You will be sent a link to England Hockey’s Update Service Checker, where you will be asked a series of questions about the certificate that you have on the DBS Update Service. If your answers meet England  Hockey’s criteria, you will then be asked to provide information about the certificate and give permission for England Hockey to perform the status check. If your answers do not meet the criteria, you will be advised and will need to get a new check started through your club/association.
  3. Once we have received your certificate information, you will be sent an email asking you to send your original DBS Certificate (the one that was most recently added to DBS Update Service) and one form of ID to England Hockey to be verified. Alternatively, your ID can be verified by your club’s/association’s Welfare Officer or DBS Verifier. If you choose to use this option, they will need to complete and send a copy of England Hockey’s DBS Update Service ID Validation Form by post with your certificate or email. Your DBS certificate will need to be verified by England Hockey.
  4. Once validation has been completed, EH will perform a status check, where they will be told whether the certificate on the DBS Update Service is ‘Valid’ or ‘Not Valid’.
