What is an Activate Camp?
An Activate Camp offers a fun and safe environment for children and teenagers to develop their skills through technical sessions, challenges, and gameplay, before testing those skills in the Activate Games end of camp tournament!
At Activate Camps, teamwork and a positive attitude are key, as participants work in teams throughout their camp experience to earn points for the Activate Games. Team points will accumulate through various challenges, during sessions, and by showcasing BEST (Bravery, Enthusiasm, Sportsmanship, Teamwork) attitude during camp life.
What is a Next Level Hockey Camp?
Next Level Hockey is designed for children aged 6 to 14 – the ultimate hockey adventure for outfield players.
The camp delivers fun and engaging activities focusing on honing basic skills and fostering game awareness. Our dynamic approach includes small-sided games, skills circuits, and exciting challenges, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience for every participant.
ROLES
• Camp Manager – Responsible for the camp, all H&S, safeguarding, registrations,
assigning coaches and leading the coaches.
• Coaching Manager – For smaller camps, a Coaching Manager will coach a group on top of the Camp Manager’s responsibility.
• Head Coach – A specialist coach who can lead and manage the other coaches on camp.
• Coach – Responsible for leading sessions for the children they have assigned. Making sure they all improve and have fun in each session.
• Assistant Coach – Assisting the Coaches to produce best in class sessions. Supporting the set up and delivery of sessions.
Responsibilities
• Create a positive, inclusive and energetic learning environment where every child feels confident, challenged and supported
• Deliver a high-quality and engaging hockey camp that inspire young players and supports skill development
• Adapt sessions to suit a range of ages, abilities and experience levels, ensuring every player progresses and enjoys their hockey
• Act as a positive role model, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, respect and a love for the game
• Support players with technical feedback, encouragement and motivation, helping them reach their full potential
• Work collaboratively with fellow coaches and camp staff to deliver a
professional, well-organised Next Level Hockey experience
• Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare and safety at all times
• Ensure all equipment is set up, used and stored correctly, maintaining a safe and organised environment
• Represent Activate Camps with enthusiasm, professionalism and pride
What we’re looking for:
Essential
• A Valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness
to complete one)
• Sound safeguarding understanding
• A basic understanding of Health and Safety
• Passionate about working with children.
• Detailed knowledge of hockey
Desireable
• Good ability to communicate with parents
• Experience delivering hockey coaching independently
• Hold an England Hockey L2 (or above) coaching qualification or equivalent
(essential for Coach Role)
Pay: Earn up to £150 per day
Hours: Core working hours: 8:30-4:30pm OR 9:30-5:30pm Some venues differ
Expenses: Travel: 30p per mile, after the first 35 miles per day. Uplift available for lift sharing
