Inspire the Next Generation of Players.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic lead and assistant coaches who can help us invest in our Club’s aspirations, our players’ potential and the future of hockey in the area. If you believe in developing players, helping them achieve their potential this is the role for you!

The BHHHC Hockey Family
BHHHC is a thriving community club set in the beautiful Chiltern Hills. We have 10 adult teams, masters and mixed teams, walking hockey, and an active community outreach programme — all centred around our own astro and clubhouse.

We take pride in our friendly and supportive atmosphere, helping everyone grow their skills and their enjoyment of the game. This is an important foundation for realising the potential of our players and the future of the Club.

Who We’re Looking For
We are on the hunt for lead and/or assistant coaches for our adult teams who will to work alongside a dedicated team of volunteer and paid coaches.

Our training times are on Mondays and Wednesdays, unlike many other clubs.   This has often been attractive opportunity for coaches who play (or coach) at other clubs.

Club Training – 1900-2100 Mondays (September – March)

Open to all, this is mainly attended by 3/4/5s players with a high proportion of U18s.  Skills development and consolidation is key in this session as a foundation for game-play development at team training.

Coaches (but particularly a lead coach) need to be able to:

  • structure and plan engaging and effective training sessions tailored to the needs of players with a broad range of skills and experience.
  • lead and oversee the safe delivery of these sessions, setting the tone for a positive and inspiring environment.
  • Support and collaborate with volunteer and paid coaches to ensure high-quality coaching standards.

Men’s Performance Training: 2000 – 2200  /  Women’s Performance Training: 1930 – 2130 (August -March)

This is for 1s and 2s teams.  The lower teams have team training earlier in the evening.

In addition to being able to plan and deliver engaging and safe training sessions, Performance coaches need to have played at a reasonably high level and be able to develop our higher teams’ game play and strategic awareness. It would be an advantage to be able to coach matches on Saturdays.

The Club expects all coaches to hold relevant qualifications, including safeguarding, first aid and DBS.

Other Opportunities:

  • Youth Lead Coach for Sunday mornings
  • Build and expand our in-school programme, introducing more young people to the joy of sport.

What’s different about us.
We are building our coaching team and we’re willing to offer flexibility and will think creatively for the right person.  However, if you have less time to offer but the right skills and passion, we’d still encourage you to get in touch. Let’s see what we can make work together.
