Blueharts Hockey Club is seeking an ambitious and inspiring Women’s 1st Team Coach to lead our flagship women’s side into the 2026/27 season and beyond.

Blueharts is a thriving, friendly, and ambitious club with:

• 7 women’s and 9 men’s teams
• A large, vibrant junior section
• England Hockey Talent Centre Certification
• Multiple players currently competing at Talent Academy level
Based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire (30 minutes from London King’s Cross), we benefit from excellent facilities and a strong community ethos, while maintaining a clear ambition to compete at the highest level.

Our Women’s 1s combines talented junior players with experienced senior athletes. Following a strong season, the squad is targeting a return to East Premier League.

We are looking for a coach who can:

• Build on existing momentum
• Integrate and develop emerging talent
• Foster a culture of competitive, enjoyable, and high-performance hockey across the 1st and 2nd team squads

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, engaging weekly training sessions (Midweek evening, 8–10pm)
• Develop and implement clear tactical frameworks and playing principles
• Lead match day coaching and squad management
• Take ownership of selection, including involvement in selection meetings
• Establish and embed team values and culture
• Build strong relationships with players and contribute positively to the wider club environment

You will:

• Have a strong understanding of performance hockey and player development
• Be an effective communicator who can motivate and connect with players
• Bring energy, organisation, and a genuine passion for developing teams and individuals
• Be a qualified coach

Additional Opportunities

Eligibility
