Blueharts Men’s 1s Coach

Blueharts HC based in Hitchin, Herts are seeking a Men’s First Team Coach for the 2025-26 season and beyond. 
 
The club is a welcoming and friendly club with 8 men's and 7 ladies teams boasting fantastic facilities located in Hitchin, 30 minutes out of Kings Cross. It's first team has a mixture of talented junior players and players with an experience of high level hockey and is looking to maintain its position as a top team in the East region. It is a Talent Centre with a thriving junior section and several players at Talent Academy level.  
 
The men's 1s have finished in the top 4 of the East Premier League in the last two seasons. The squad is looking to build on these results and continue to promote talented young players from within, establishing a culture of enjoyable competitive hockey across the 1st and 2nd team squad. 
 
The club seeks a coach able to build good rapport with the players, be a key part of the club and get the best out of every player in the squad.

They would be expected to: 
 
- Deliver high quality, engaging training sessions providing the appropriate intensity, learning and enjoyment for the first team squad once a week (8-10pm every Wednesday)
- Have a good understanding of the game and be able to develop and implement clear team tactics and principles. 
- Develop a set of team values and ensure they are followed. 
Be available for and have experience of match day squad management. 
- Lead on selection and be available for selection meetings. 
- Be qualified to coach independently. 
 
The coach must be eligible to live and work in the UK. 
 
There are other coaching opportunities available at the club including assistant senior roles and junior lead roles.
