Men's 2nd Team Head Coach

Be a part of the University of Bath's elite hockey performance programme as Head Coach of the Men's 2nd XI.

The Men’s 2nd XI will be competing in the BUCS South Premier League. As a team, our objective will be to establish ourselves as a Top 6 team in the league, enjoy a strong cup run and develop players of a 1st XI (BUCS National Premier League) standard to push the Performance Hockey Programme at the University of Bath. We are looking for a coach to lead weekly Monday evening training sessions and ideally take the team on Wednesday matchdays. This role may be done in conjunction with the Ladies 2nd XI vacancy.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and tailored weekly training sessions on Monday evenings
• Availability to coach team on Wednesday matchdays is preferable but not essential
• Take an active role in the development of players pushing to play 1st XI hockey
• Monitor performance and provide feedback to players
• Communicate and collaborate with the 1st XI Head Coach on systems of play, player development and feedback
• Work closely with the team captain and senior players to ensure a positive atmosphere and provide support for all

Experience and Approach:

• A coaching qualification of EH Level 2 or equivalent is desirable. However, we will consider applicants without a formal qualification but with sufficient relevant coaching experience
• Technical and tactical expertise
• Proven track record of player development
• Motivated and ambitious individual with excellent people skills
• Experience in a similar role may be advantageous but is not essential

Pay: Competitive and commensurate to coaching qualifications and experience
