Ladies Head Coach

Wolverhampton & Tettenhall HC are looking for a Ladies Head Coach to run our Wednesday evening coaching sessions.

The successful candidate would not be expected to regularly attend matches on a Saturday, but a commitment to watch the first team play at least 3 times per season is a must.

This season, we are adding a 5th team to the ladies squads, which will be a development team for our up-and-coming juniors working alongside some experienced senior players. We are looking to retain the current league positions across the ladies section this year, but want to close the gap between the 1st and 2 nd teams and also look at a strategic plan to strengthen the ladies section and make sure the juniors are able to move into the senior league teams confidently.

The successful candidate to this position would be invited to outline how they feel would be best to ensure this happens. We are a welcoming and sociable hockey club, and are looking for enthusiastic coaches who can help us strengthen, develop & nurture our teams and our junior
players within the Ladies’ ranks.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement a pre-season training programme which would include fitness, training sessions and friendlies
• Plan and run engaging and appropriately challenging training sessions to develop and strengthen the squads
• Work with coaches and club leadership to ensure development throughout the club and to attract new players
• Monitor performance, commitment and provide feedback on a team and individual level

If the successful candidate is interested, we have other coaching positions available within the club that they could do in conjunction with this role.

Candidates would preferably have a Level 2 UK coaching qualification, or would be keen to work towards it, and be eligible to work in the UK.

Pay to be discussed upon enquiry and would be dependent on qualifications and experience. The Club could also provide financial support towards further coaching qualifications. Any successful candidate would be subject to a DBS check.
