Confirmed: Squads To Face Dutch & What's On This Weekend

England have named their squads for this weekend’s exciting FIH Hockey Pro League matches at home to the Netherlands.

After four straight wins, England’s men go into the matches in London in an upbeat manner, and they welcome back Zach Wallace to their squad. The former nominee for the FIH World Young Player of the Year award will play his first Pro League games since February. Also back is David Goodfield, who has been in fine form in recent weeks. Liam Sanford and Rhys Smith miss out on this occasion.

All 21 athletes selected for the women’s team played in last weekend’s matches against Spain. Goalkeeper Maddie Hinch is set to pass a milestone against the Dutch as she is currently on 99 England caps, while Anna Toman and Hannah Martin are on 49 and 48 respectively so could also reach landmarks of their own.

England's women of course have a rich recent history against the Dutch, having beaten them in London in 2015 to win the EuroHockey Championships on home soil, with many of that team also playing for Great Britain in the historic Olympic final in Rio. The Dutch were victorious in the semi-final at the Tokyo games in 2021, and both sides will be gunning for victory on this Jubilee Weekend.

The weekend sees four matches take place across the two days:
Sat 4 Jun - England v Netherlands (W&M), 2pm & 4:30pm
Sun 5 Jun - England v Netherlands (W&M), 1pm & 3:30pm

Tickets for both days are on sale now, starting at £7.50 for children and £17.50 adults. A ticket for one day gives access to both matches.

The games take place at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre; having previously been scheduled for the Twickenham Stoop but moved to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in early May.

As well as world-class hockey on the pitch, the weekend sees a series of important activities off it, with a number of ex-Great Britain players invited along to receive their international caps as part of an ongoing project by the Hockey Museum. We will also pay tribute to recently-retired players including former captains Alex Danson-Bennett and Adam Dixon, as well as ex-coach Danny Kerry.

On Saturday England Hockey are supporting the Hockey Futures charity, while on Sunday the hockey community pays homage to Seoul 88 gold medal winner Imran Sherwani and Alzheimer’s Research UK as part of the #OrangeForImran initiative. England's men are wearing shirts with the Alzheimer's Research UK logo for both days of the weekend.
