Covid 19 Update - 4 February 2022

Return to Play Plan A Guidance

As you are aware the Government has returned to Plan A of the Covid Recovery Plan. Hockey was not significantly affected during Plan B, but we have now updated our guidance for Plan A in line with new Government policy.

The key points are: -

  • Hockey is allowed, indoor and outdoor and the game is still considered low risk.
  • Face coverings are recommended in crowded and enclosed spaces so there may still be guidance in venues which should be followed by hockey organisers.
  • Covid Passes are not required to be shown.
  • The Indoor Hockey recommendations are still in place and can be found here
  • Testing and self-isolation is still required, and our updated Covid Case Flowchart can be found here

We are still recommending good practice guidance for both indoor and outdoor hockey and the main points are:-

  • All clubs and organisations are required to have a registered Covid Officer.
  • England Hockey will maintain communication with Covid Officers in the case of any future changes to guidance.
  • We ask that Covid Officers continue to share with members and oppositions any positive cases so they can take the necessary action.

If anyone has any concerns, please email clubs@englandhockey.co.uk

Further Government guidance on how to stay safe can be found here

We will communicate any changes to our guidance, as necessary. We continue to be hugely grateful for all the work of volunteers helping to ensure hockey is played as safely as possible.
