England O80s Beat The Netherlands 1-0 At Bisham Abbey

It was a chilly afternoon at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre as the England O80s took on the Dutch in their second-ever fixture. The last time to two sides faced each other was back in 2019 almost 3 years ago to the day.

England got the upper hand early in the first quarter with a cracking strike from John Seear who found the backboard. England had strong possession throughout the first half but couldn’t convert their chances.

Both teams were eager to score with some fantastic opportunities from both sides, but as the halftime whistle blew, it was still only 1-0 to England.

Both teams took to the bench for a team talk and some halftime oranges.

The second half didn’t disappoint with end to end hockey and some fantastic play from both sides, the pressure was on for the Netherlands to equalise but a solid defence from England shut them out.

The clock ticked down with more and more opportunities being created but neither team could convert.

England won a last minute penalty corner but were unable to convert and the game ended 1-0.
